Four disciplines. One coordinated design.
Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and sustainability engineering — delivered in-house so the coordination happens before it reaches your contractor.
MEPF Services
Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection are four distinct engineering disciplines, typically provided by separate consultants. At Khalifeh & Associates, all four disciplines are delivered in-house, allowing for comprehensive coordination and integration of building systems before drawings are issued for construction. This integrated approach helps identify and resolve conflicts early, reducing coordination issues during construction.
- Mechanical Engineering: Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and mechanical ventilation.
- Electrical Engineering: Power distribution, telecommunications, fire alarm systems, lightning protection, electrical controls, and lighting design.
- Plumbing Engineering: Domestic water supply, sanitary waste and vent systems, and roof and stormwater drainage.
- Fire Protection Engineering: Fire sprinkler and standpipe systems, coordinated with the project's overall life-safety design.
- Multidisciplinary Coordination: Comprehensive coordination across all four engineering disciplines to identify and resolve conflicts early, minimize construction-phase issues, and deliver a fully integrated set of construction documents.

Fire Protection
Fire protection systems are essential to safeguarding building occupants, protecting property, and supporting compliance with applicable fire and life-safety regulations. Effective fire protection design requires careful evaluation of building occupancy, hazard classifications, water supply capacity, and system performance criteria. Our engineering team develops code-compliant fire protection designs tailored to each project's requirements, with an emphasis on system reliability, hydraulic performance, and coordination with the overall building design.
- Automatic Fire Sprinkler System Design: Design of automatic sprinkler systems based on applicable codes, occupancy classifications, hazard categories, and project-specific protection requirements.

Before you send the drawings
The earlier we are involved, the more value we can provide. Bringing our engineering team in during schematic design allows us to coordinate systems efficiently, identify potential challenges early, and develop solutions that can improve constructability, energy performance, and overall project costs. Many of the most impactful opportunities for savings and efficiency are established before design development begins.
Yes. While our engineers are currently licensed in California, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, and Washington, we routinely support projects throughout the United States. Depending on project requirements, we can obtain additional licenses, coordinate with local professionals, or provide engineering support tailored to the jurisdiction where the project is located.
Absolutely. Addressing plan check comments and agency review feedback is a standard part of our design process. With decades of experience working with municipalities, building departments, and regulatory agencies, we develop our drawings with code compliance and permit approval in mind. This approach helps minimize plan check correction cycles and supports a smoother path toward permit issuance.
We work on projects of all sizes and complexities, from custom single-family residences and multifamily housing developments to educational facilities, commercial buildings, civic projects, historic preservation work, and large-scale mixed-use developments. Our multidisciplinary MEPF engineering team is equipped to support projects ranging from small tenant improvements to complex, multi-building developments.
